[Monitoring] Slow connections to Runbox from Asia

We have had reports from some customers regarding slow connections from some parts of the World to our servers in Norway. We asked our Internet provider to look in to this and below is a summary of what they reported.

There is a general problem with data traffic between Asia and Europe at the moment and this is affecting all providers. It’s caused by undersea communication cables having been cut in the Red Sea, and because of threats from Yemen repair ships can’t go near the cuts.

This affects all ISPs during peak hours. Providers are routing traffic via the USA instead and this additional data can cause slowness on those routes.

We will update this status post as and when the situation changes.
